His Thoughts Over Mine
I love what Psalm 139:17-18 says, “How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand!” God’s thoughts towards us form a beautiful picture of what He sees. In the same Psalm, the psalmist states that he is fearfully and wonderfully made. He believes what God says about Him. This psalmist believes he is God’s masterpiece.
Do you believe what God says about you? Does your life reflect what God says about you?
Our culture can carry so much negativity that it promotes and produces destructive self-talk and thoughts. From my experience, I found it sometimes more comfortable to believe the negative thoughts over the precious thoughts of God. However, through renewing my mind in God’s Word, it’s become easier to cast aside the negative and wrap myself up in the Words of God, meditating on them.
God tells us we are more than conquers in Christ. Do we walk and act like that is true?
Do we trust God enough to not worry about tomorrow?
Do we believe He will supply all our needs, or are we fearfully looking at our checking accounts?
God tells us we are His masterpiece created in Christ for good works that we should walk in it. Are we walking in those good works, or are we telling ourselves we can’t?
I ask myself these same questions. When I feel worried and anxiety comes to hit me in the head like a 2X4, I remind myself that I am anxious in nothing because that is what God says. I remind myself that if I seek first the Kingdom of God all these things will be added to me because that is what God promised me. I must believe God over my circumstances.
I encourage you to believe God first.
You are His beloved, Cherished & Redeemed!
